PRECISE (PREgnancy Care Integrating translational Science, Everywhere) Network
About this cohort
Prospective pregnancy cohort across The Gambia (West Africa), Kenya (East Africa) and Mozambique (Southern Africa), aiming to recruit ~10,000 pregnant women and 1,800 non-pregnant women of reproductive age. Designed to investigate placental disorders — pregnancy hypertension/pre-eclampsia, fetal growth restriction, preterm birth and stillbirth — through deep clinical, social and biological phenotyping with longitudinal biospecimens. The first published cohort profile appeared in 2025.
