About this cohort

Established in 2008 in five neighbourhoods of north-western Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, mixing two formal and three informal areas. Open household panel of 80,376 individuals at baseline followed up annually (every 10 months in practice). Now covers ~100,000+ residents and is the leading urban HDSS in West Africa.
