About this cohort
Established in 1984 in the Mlomp area of Oussouye Département, Ziguinchor Region, southwest Senegal, to study a West African population with high mortality. Community/village-panel cohort of ~8,700–8,750 residents collected annually (except 1987 and 2008). One of Africa's longest-running HDSS sites; supplemented by topical sample surveys.
