About this cohort
Established in 2016 as a national harmonised network of HDSS nodes (e.g. AHRI, Agincourt, DIMAMO) in South Africa. Each node is a fully functioning HDSS that includes all individuals in the surveillance area; total network coverage ~297,000 participants at first collection. Provides up-to-date, representative, longitudinal data with linkages to national datasets, civil registration, electronic medical records, education and labour data.
