Established in 1993 in the Kassena-Nankana districts, Upper East Region of Ghana. Open cohort grown from 25,000 to 156,735 individuals by 2012 and now over 318,000, followed up every four months. Operated jointly by NHRC and the Ghana Health Service; a leading site for vaccine, family planning and child-survival research in West Africa.
