About this cohort

Nested 2022–2025 long-term conditions survey within the Healthy Lives Malawi platform, drawing samples from the rural Karonga HDSS (~53,000 residents, est. 2002) and the urban Lilongwe HDSS in Area 25 (target ~65,000 residents, est. August 2022). Investigates physical multimorbidity, common mental health disorders and associated risk factors. Follows on from the 2013–2016 NCD survey at the same sites.
