About this cohort
Established in 1996 in Dabat district, northern Ethiopia, across 9 rural and 4 urban kebeles spanning three geo-climatic zones. Expanded in 2021 to add Gondar and Gorgora sites, now collectively monitoring ~122,295 individuals (Dabat 77,898; Gondar 42,147; Gorgora 2,250). Households are followed every six months for births, deaths, migrations and marital changes.
